Diesel Marine International is a global operating company specializing in a wide range of surface treatment processes used in the Marine, Industrial and Automotive markets.

For more than 30 years DMI has worked closely with OEM's, ship owners and research institutes, to develop surface technologies to upgrade and extend the operational life and reduce the cost of such key components as pistons, cylinder covers, exhaust valve spindles, seats, piston rods, etc. These technologies have enabled DMI to become a world player in the field of reconditioning and exchange services for large diesel engine components. Today, the DMI network covers all major shipping areas and consists of factory, stock pools, agencies, join ventures and licensees.

Hard chrome, nickel plating and metal spraying, together with the surface technologies developed in the marine sector, enable DMI to present a comprehensive surface treatment package to the non-marine INDUSTRIES. These various treatments are applied in a wide variety of industrial sectors such as production machines, earth-moving machines, etc.

DMI also processes plastic injection moulds. For this application, hard chrome provides the benefits of reduced wear, controlled surface finish, and anti-stick characteristics to enable easy release of the product. Even the most complex shapes can be successfully treated at DMI.

DMI is a recognized specialist in the hard chrome plating of press dies. This technology enables the car manufacturer to significantly reduce production cost for panels.

Today, DMI factories and licensees in various parts of the world offer this proven technology.
